Frequently Asked Questions: Everything you ever wanted to know about fragrance! 

Nobody is born knowing everything. Therefore we have collected the answers to a dozen questions that most people ask before buying a new fragrance! Here are some of the questions that we are frequently asked: 

How much should I wear a fragrance?

The amount of perfume a person wears actually depends on personal preference. But it is recommended to wear enough so you can smell it. Do not overuse that; it may overpower your surrounding. Ensure that your scent circle should be your arms' length. This means that you should wear an amount of olfactible fragrance to only those who come into your scent circle.  

How can I make my fragrance last longer on my skin?

Most fragrances evaporate rapidly from dry skin, so it is better to use fragrances on moisturized skin. To moisturize your skin, you can buy the "matching" cream for the fragrance or an unscented cream like Cetaphil or try petroleum jelly. Additionally, you may try a light mist on your hair, as hair holds the scent longer than skin.

Can I wear more than one perfume at a time?

Yes, you certainly can! It is said that Middle Eastern women layer up to 7 fragrances at a time. So do not be afraid of playing with perfumes. Keep experimenting to work out which fragrances enhance each other. Initially, wear two fragrances from the same family line, and gradually become more daring! 

What is a fragrance note?

Perfumery language has borrowed a lot from the language of music. There are notes in music, but the notes in perfumery represent an individual element – such as jasmine, rose,  lemon, apple, sandalwood, or any other flowers, herbs, spices and woods that are used to create a perfume. 

Are Feminine, Masculine and Unisex Fragrances different?

Guidelines on what fragrances women or men should wear are outdated. Every individual has different beliefs regarding what fragrance suits them. This is why we hate to stop anyone from wearing what they love just because some conventions that are only about femininity or masculinity. Having said this, it really depends on you.

What is the difference between perfume/scent/fragrance?

Nothing, there is no such difference in perfume, scent or fragrance. All these are just words that are used to describe the mesmerizing world of the beautiful smell that we apply! The word fragrance is commonly used throughout the US and the perfume industry. At the same time, the word perfume originates from the Latin word 'per fumum,' which means through the smoke.

Why do perfumes smell different on different people?

Every person has their own body chemistry, which is why different notes react differently on different skin types. The factors that may affect how a fragrance smells on you include anything that affects the natural smell of your skin! This may be anything from hormonal changes to stress or your diet! 

Why can't I smell my own perfume after several minutes?

• The human nose frequently gets desensitized and gets used to the notes of your perfume. This is the reason that most people are not able to smell their own fragrance after 30-40 minutes. However, their friends and colleagues may still be able to smell it.

Can perfume help change my mood?

Yes, fragrances help to elevate the spirit and moods of people. This is even a scientifically proven formula known as aromachology! Aromachology is a type of therapy that uses different aromas to uplift a person's moods and emotions. The type of fragrance impacts your mood and others around you! 

Can perfume expire?

Like every good thing, perfumes and fragrances also expire! Usually, the lifespan of a perfume is around two years, and this is because fragrances are made from different and delicate ingredients like food, and these ingredients do expire! So instead of keeping or storing perfume, use and enjoy it! 

How do I know if a fragrance has gone off?

The factors that indicate that a fragrance has gone off include darkening and thickening of the liquid. At some point, it may also become cloudy and won't smell the same as it used to. At this point, there is nothing one can do to redeem it! 

How can we increase the lifespan of perfumes?

Though perfumes do expire, here are some ways that can help you to increase the lifespan of your perfume:

• Keep or store it away from sunlight.
• Don't keep the bottle open. 
• Put it in a dark and closed container.
• If you intend not to use a fragrance for a long period, store it in a refrigerator

Where do your oils / ingredients come from?

We use the highest quality oils made and imported from France, the perfume making process is done in-house here in the UAE.

Can I request a refund if I don’t like the product?

Refunds can be requested and are reviewed on a case by case basis, we guarantee a full refund in the case of the scent wearing off in less than 12 hours. 

How scent lasting is tested and measured?

The scent emanates (people around you can smell it from distance) for about 8-12 hours, but it will last and remain and can be smelled in clothes and from a short distance for at least 24 hours.
